Our donors

Our work is funded by UNESCO, governments, multilateral organizations and foundations.

Support is received for:

  • core work within the approved work programme
  • specific projects, aligned with the UIS results framework

Core activities

(unearmarked or earmarked for education funding)
refer to the work within the UIS mandate, such as data collection, indicator production, capacity development and data products dissemination. Such activities span many years and require consistent, long-term funding. Research and innovation constitute core activities.

Projects

(earmarked funding)
are time-bound, output-specific activities which last 1 to 3 years and are not expected to continue after the planned output is delivered.
