William and Flora Hewlett Foundation – Project funder
In 2012, the Hewlett Foundation became a pioneer in funding UIS projects related to learning outcomes when it began supporting the work of the Learning Metrics Task Force, established by the UIS and the Brookings Institution to investigate the feasibility of common learning goals and targets to inform the post‐2015 global development policy discourse.
Later, from 2014 to 2019, with the generous support of the Hewlett Foundation, the UIS considerably advanced the learning outcomes agenda by generating new data and working towards developing robust tools, measures and indicators for monitoring education quality.
